Yesterday has been a very hectic day and to top with all the family stuff and as if I didn’t have enough things to do, I still went ahead and made these Cheesecake Pops. It was an even messier experience than making the Red Velvet Cake Balls version and just couldn’t help wish that I didn’t do the cheesecake version but my kids wanted to give a little something to their class as sort of Valentine’s Day gift and ‘welcome back to school’ goodie.

10 years ago in Taipei, I met the person who changed my life. 10 years ago in Taipei, he surprised me and proposed at Burger King. 10 years ago in Taipei, we had a ‘big’ church wedding at a small chapel in Tienmu attended by family and friends, some who even flew from the other side of the world to celebrate with us. 10 years ago in Shanghai, we are in our ‘honeymoon’; an extended one. 10 years ago in London, we had another wedding; a small civil wedding. 10 years later in Shanghai, I’m blessed with a great husband and dad. Thank you, Simon. Audrey gave us a drawing…

Still cannot believe that my kids have turned 5!!! It’s a big number. And it so happened that this year, their birthday fell on the same day as the Mid-Autumn Festival which is an important Chinese holiday. It signals Autumn and also a time for getting together, enjoying mooncakes and families gather around to enjoy the full moon.

Been wanting to have a proper picnic blanket since we started hanging out at a hotel’s grassy lawn last year but never got around to it…

Last night was our date night. And we decided to check out the new IFC Mall across the river. Most especially to check out the new Apple Store! Yes, that is how ‘geeky’ we are… So much has changed in the Lujiazhui area! Gosh we cannot believe how many new buildings have risen and how many changes has been done in time for the Expo. The IFC Mall is very posh! Not our usual place to go… Lots of designer stores. Almost like Hong Kong. With the opening of the City Super also in the IFC Mall, there’s almost no need to fly down to Hong Kong to shop. Hopefully…

Today was the last day of school for the kids. They are going on to ‘zhong ban’ (means ‘middle’ kindergarten) next year. The year has gone rather quickly. And to top that, one of the kids’ classmate, Owen, will be moving to Hong Kong so there was a bit of flurry of activities esp. for me, trying to finish up my first ‘proper’ quilt.

Lately it’s been a bit crazy with stuff to do at home. Been alternating between quilting and sewing clothes. Yesterday, finally gotten down to basting our huge ‘Anniversary Quilt’. The quilt top and backing were all done a couple months ago but just wasn’t inspired to work on it until late yesterday afternoon.

Yes, it’s been rather quiet here lately. There’s so much I want to blog about but that’s now taken a back seat due to work commitments and also because I am still trying to wrap my head around this iWeb! So now, I’m starting from scratch a continuation of my other blogs now combined into 1. I haven’t gotten to importing all my old blogs since 2005! iWeb unfortunately don’t support that… (argh!) More plans for tutorials and giveaways in the works… I just need to find the time and hopefully a 24-hr day!

The twins these days seem to have grown so quickly. I’m still trying hard to catch up and try to record as much as I can of our everyday life. A few glimpse…

Chinese New Year is coming up. One of the rare times I managed to get to the ‘Old Town’ to buy some annual CNY door decorations to usher in good luck for the coming year. This time I cut back on buying only 2 decorations; 1 traditional 2-pc scroll for our front door and another 2-pc Year of the Tiger ones for the kids’ room door.
