Travel Journal | Russia

A long time coming, sharing here the travel journal I made for our trip to Russia. Actually this is part one of a series of 3 journals from our big trip to Europe last January-February of 2019. A big trip that took us to a lot of places in the dead of winter!

Our first stop was Moscow. We flew in from Shanghai and arrived same day with heavy snow marking our arrival. We spent a couple days in the city and took in the important touristy sights, of course (!) like the Kremlin, the History Museum, St. Basil’s Cathedral, and more. Really cold and kids were pretty hyped to see so much snow and getting a chance to PLAY!

From there we took the train to St. Petersburg which was even colder and with even more snow! Plenty of sightseeing and eating! Definitely the latter and there has been plenty of trips to the nearby stores. We love that in both cities where we stayed at AirBnbs, the apartments were quite easy access to places we needed to get to. I still remember the bakeshop/coffeeshop right across from our apartment in St. Petersburg! Yummmmmm!

What I love with this journal is the chance to integrate some watercolour sketches where photos fail to deliver the essence of the story that I wanted to document.

Here are some details from this journal.

Or watch the flip-thru video of the entire travel journal.

Watch for the second post covering the travel journal of our next stop – Finland.

Thank you for reading.
